Tracy Sonka Stultz 

Tracy Sonka Stultz is an American artist exhibiting original, contemporary, sculpture, mixed media, and encaustic paintings in Santa Monica, California.  She grew up in east San Diego as the youngest of six siblings before moving to Los Angeles in 1984.  Starting at an early age, Tracy was always drawn to painting, sculpture and other means of expressing herself through art.  Now, after 30 years as a successful Interior Designer, Tracy has chosen to explore her more creative passions and pursue a multitude of artistic endeavors, resulting in the work you see here. 

Tracy paints with molten beeswax (mixed with damar resin) and India inks in a modern version of the ancient Greek encaustic technique using fire to apply and infuse pigments into wax. She creates timeless paintings of landscapes and abstract and figurative works. Her anthropomorphic sculptures incorporate driftwood, found stones, and mixed medias. Her bold photography embodies her love of nature in all its glorious details fueled by and her many travels around the globe.
